Circle the Capitol – Support D.C. Statehood
Two reasons why you should must join us
- While acknowledging that Communities with significant Black and Brown residents have greater exposure to Coronavirus, the $2.2 Trillion Stimulus Bill, passed by the Republican Senate and signed by President Trump, underscores the historic maltreatment of the District of Columbia. Under the Bill, each state is entitled to a minimum of $1.25 Billion. D.C. however received less than $500 Million. That is because we were lumped in with the Territories and divided $3 Billion, resulting in our receiving $750 Million less than we would receive if we were a state.
- During a peaceful protest near the White House, President Trump deployed the United States Military, with battle ready equipment, including helicopters, to push the protesters away. Using the Military of the United States on American citizens before using them on Russia or North Korea. Outrageous. That could not happen, if we were a state.
Join us on September 18th, when we will circle the Capitol, the way the Pennsylvania Militia did on a certain day in June 1783, to cause the creation of D.C. Let's recreate D.C. as a state, so Trump cannot take three quarters of a billion dollars from us and cannot turn America's Army on peaceful protesters.
SEPTEMBER 18th WILL BE LIVE STREAMED, FROM 9:00 A.M. TO 9:00 P.M.

THE LIVE MUSIC AND COVID APPAREL FASHION SHOW AT 5:30 P.M., THE LAST OF FREEDOM PLAZA ACTIVITIES, IS FREE TO ALL.
Following the Freedom Plaza activities, we ask that you join us, beginning at 7:30 p.m., to walk around the Capitol, on the public sidewalks, social distancing at least six feet, wearing masks. Glow Lights can be retrieved during the activities at Freedom Plaza or in front of the United States Supreme Court, beginning at 7:30 p.m. At EXACTLY 8:30 p.m., we will halt our Circle and sing the FREEDOM SONG. Lyrics will be distributed.
Republican Senator, Lisa Murkowski, who represents Alaska, a former territory that was granted statehood in 1959, has said:
"I'm probably one of the few that was actually born in a territory and in my lifetime we fought for statehood, it was something driven by the residents and whether we are talking D.C. or Puerto Rico, as long as it is driven by residents I'd pay attention."
