The fight against climate change has ushered in new modes of transportation on the streets of D.C. I AGREE WITH AND PARTICIPATE IN THAT FIGHT. THERE IS AN EXTREMELY URGENT NEED FOR CLIMATE CHANGE. But the younger influencers seem to have forgotten that us older folks don't and can't ride bicycles anymore. We don't use scooters, mopeds, skateboards, hoverboards, segways, or even roller skates, on our streets. Yet, the street transportation designs, and these new methods seem to discourage cars and frustrate older drivers. Our young people will dart through the roadways, cross in front of us, pull up beside us when we are about to turn and present many perilous situations. Someone will get hurt! WE URGENTLY NEED A CONVERSATION!
At our next Lecture in the Law, a Town Hall Meeting, we will help to educate drivers, cyclists, scooter riders, pedestrians and others about their RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES to themselves and each other as they navigate the city streets. We will address current laws and rules INCLUDING LEGAL LIABILITY ISSUES; focus on what Pedestrians need to know; and center attention on the rules of the road for motorists and non-motorists. I will be joined by other lawyers and experts on this subject. The Town Hall and GoGo presentations will be FREE, but TICKETS will be required due to limited capacity. We will likely live stream, however. In the weeks leading up to the Town Hall Meeting, I shall publish a couple of Articles at livingwiththelaw.com, so that participants can come prepared with questions. Following the Meeting, you will be treated to the sounds of D.C.'s official music, with a premier, Live GoGo Band!
